Children’s Vibrating Chair

The Advantages and Disadvantages of a Child’s Vibrating Chair

As all new mothers know, carrying around your child all day is an exhausting job. If you would like a little break from the holding and bouncing, it would be a wise idea to invest in a baby’s vibrating chair! These chairs give children a sense of familiarity and comfort and is a great tool used to soothe them to sleep. They are mildly expensive, but with all the use you will get out of it…it is definitely a good buy!
The noise and the motions of these chairs will almost immediately calm or soothe your baby. Many times, they will immediately get drowsy and began drifting off. Babies are used to the noise and movements of being in the womb and the chair is a wonderful replica of this feeling. Thus, the child feels at home and can relax enough to fall asleep. Many new mothers use these chairs after trying for hours and hours to rock their child to sleep with no luck. These vibrating chairs also can help eliminate infant stomach pains by gently dislodging and gas bubbles in the child’s stomach.
The main issues with these chairs come from those who believe they are “mechanical babysitters” and that using them eliminates the child’s need for parental contact. Also, some doctors say that the child may become so used to falling asleep in the vibrating chair that later in life, they will have difficulties naturally falling asleep. One big disadvantage many parents have a problem with is the sheer number of batteries they go through in a month’s period. As we all know, batteries can be expensive and when you are buying a a few packs a month, it can get expensive. This really all depends on which vibrating chair you buy as well as how much your child uses it.
All in all, if you have a fussy child who has difficulties sleeping or resting, a vibrating chair is a wonderful idea. It soothes them until they fall asleep and then you can take over. But only be willing to buy one if you are also willing to deal with future sleep issues as well as expensive batteries.
